Public Statement
The Trustees of Rabia Education Trust have determined that it is in the best interests of the community and its children to support their education in a different way going forward. We have resolved that resources and funds spent appealing matters relating to the operation of an independent school are better directed for the benefit of the beneficiaries of our charity.
We will support and champion the education of our young people through tuition services, resources and supporting parents who wish to home educate their children. Our community and its children have the right to be educated in a way that gives them the key skills to succeed whilst embracing our Islamic faith and culture. Our charitable objects allow us to support families in achieving this right whilst there continues to be a lack of state funded Islamic schools.
The Trustees would like to thank the community for its continued support.
Primary Department Closure
After much discussion and with heavy hearts, the trustees have resolved to close the primary department with effect from 31st August 2021.
From the 1st September 2021, the school will cater only for girls aged 11 to 16 years in key stages 3 and 4. The Department for Education has been informed of this decision. Further information can be obtained from the school office.

Confirmed case of Covid-19 and advice to self-isolate for 10 days
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have been advised there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school. We have followed the national guidance and have identified that your child has been in close contact with the affected person.
In line with the national guidance your child must now stay at home and self-isolate until 15th July 2021, which means your child/children should return back to school on Friday 16th July 2021.
We would like to update you with some information in regards to this isolation period.
We will be resuming with the online remote learning (Google classroom) during this period of isolation.
Lateral Covid-19 Testing

You may have heard that testing for those without coronavirus symptoms is beginning across the country using new, quicker COVID-19 tests known as ‘lateral flow devices. This letter is to help give you more information about the testing programme at Rabia Girls’ and Boys’ School.

Parents Notice for Remote Learning
Thursday 14th January 2021
Just a quick reminder for all parents as we are all back in a National lockdown, we will carry on using the Google Classroom Platform for all pupils.
We wanted to reassure you that during the Autumn Term, we have been busily preparing for this possibility. Our school staff have worked hard to develop remote learning, meaning that we can support your child’s education on a daily basis, regardless of whether he/she is at home or in school. Obviously, we all hope that infection rates will reduce and that school can re-open soon; however, we are confident and optimistic about what can be achieved during this latest lockdown period for every child with your help and support.

Dear Parents/Guardians/School Community,
We hope that you have all had an enjoyable winter break.
As you will be aware, the Government have decided that primary schools in most areas of the country will be opening on 4th January 2021. With much consideration and guidance due to our school being one bubble with most families having children in both primary and secondary we have decided for both Primary and Secondary students to start full time remote home learning on the 4th January 2021 and hope to return to school as usual on the 11th January 2021 unless circumstances change.
Statement Regarding Recent Negative & Misleading Media Coverage

Dear Parents/Guardians/School Community,
We pray you are all in good health and Eemaan.
This year has been a testing and challenging time for all of us, our families and loved ones. We make dua Allah (SWT) blesses us with good health, strength and patience in our actions and deeds that is pleasing to Him.
Our school has also been facing some challenges in relation to recent misrepresentative media propaganda. This coverage is biased and misleading; and seeks to promote and influence certain opinions such as the rumours of the school closing down. Therefore, we wanted to update and reassure yourselves in regards to these articles.
The school is currently in the appeal process for the notice given by the Department of Education (DfE).
We want to clarify that we have not been notified by the DfE or any other Governing Body that the school is going to close. This is all false media and negative propaganda.
We as a school understand that your children are an ‘amaanah’ to us and we have agreed to fulfil our commitment of educating them. Be rest assured that we will always keep our parents and guardians always informed of any changes. If you have any queries regarding any of the above, please feel free to call the school office during the hours of 8.30am – 2.30pm

Covid-19 Notice
Tuesday 18th November 2020
Asalamu Alaikum Parents and Guardians,
We have been informed that two of our pupils covid test results have come back as positive, May Allah give them shifa.
Therefore, all staff and pupils will now be completing their isolation period until Wednesday 18th November.
In Shaa Allah we will all return back to school on Thursday 19th November.
We would like to emphasise the importance of keeping in line with isolation guidelines and take this isolation period seriously for the health of our families, friends, school and the community as a whole.

Covid-19 Clean
Prior to school opening a Covid 19 deep clean was carried out by professionals throughout the whole school.
Statement in Relation to DFE De-Registration Notice
We regret to inform our entire school family that the DfE has issued a de-registration notice (please find link below) for Rabia School. Details of this notice will be shared with all immediate stakeholders via the Rabia school website and a range of information meetings. The school intends to exercise our right to appeal against this notice as it considers its basis to be unjust, unfair and disproportionate.
As you all are aware, during the past 4 years the school management has worked extremely hard to address Ofsted concerns; and each time when the school improves Ofsted changes the goal post. The School each time has challenged Ofsted for its unfair and disproportioned approach, driven by its wider political agenda against faith schools. Alhamdulillah with your duas (prayers) and support we have been meeting these challenges and will continue to do so.
In addition, despite this negative environment and pressure, the school remains committed to addressing all concerns and expectations raised by Ofsted and DfE. We urge them to work with the school to ensure that Muslim parents can continue to send their children to study in a faith based environment of their choice; which is their right and choice.
We are confident that the school is on a journey of improvement, which has seen us make a great deal of progress in recent years. The school remains committed to its improvement agenda and providing a suitable and safe faith based environment to all students during this testing time. We urge all parents / guardians to work with us to resolve this difficult situation.

Ofsted Report
Please find attached our letter to parents and the Ofsted report for our recent inspection in September. Although there are some standards that we are in working progress to be met, we have highlighted in our letter some of the positive outcomes from the inspection.
Independent School For Girls & Boys
A Hadith (Prophetic teaching) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) teaches us, ‘People are like treasures – just like treasures of gold and silver‘.
As we know, gold and silver do not simply come out of the ground ready to be made into jewellery. Much effort is spent finding the gold and extracting it from the ground. Craftsmen then labour for hours on end to turn it into something of beauty.
Rabia Girls School was set up as an independent private primary and secondary school for girls in Luton . Rabia Girls School was the first Islamic school to be opened in Beds, Hearts and Bucks in 1995. Due to demand a boys site was added and the school became known as Rabia Boys and Girls School. It is our vision is to develop a national model for progressive and positive Muslim schools which develop young people with an outstanding academic profile and an exemplary aptitude for civic responsibility and citizenship. We are determined that the school should be a model school, fully reflecting our vision.
