Governance

Rabia has a dedicated team of governors who are actively involved in the life of the school and they reflect the community we serve. They bring a diverse set of skills, professional backgrounds and experiences to help shape the school. The Governing Body includes parents and staff representatives. Zafar Khan is the Chair.

The governors are passionate about the school and are here to make sure that every young person is given the best education, opportunities and experiences possible. Our governors play an important role in overseeing the work of the school, acting as “critical friends” for the senior leadership team and holding the school staff to account for performance and development.

Governors will oversee the school through:

  • Evaluate the school’s effectiveness and value for money
  • Visit school at least eight times a year to work alongside children and teachers and feedback to the SMT/Governing body
  • Be involved in the creation of the School Development/Action Plan, With a clear focus on timescales designed to bring about speedy and secure improvement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the School Development/Action Plan
  • Review policies in line with SDP and policy review cycle
  • Attend curriculum evenings and presentations as appropriate
  • Undertake the Headteacher’s Performance Management
